Meet Alicia

York-With-Dog-trans.jpgPrior to being elected, Judge York was a college athlete and marathon runner and a member of the Houston Area Road Runners Association. Judge York values her community through volunteering with a number of local charitable organizations and has provided pro bono legal service to victims of domestic violence and indigent, helped build homes for the poor, and volunteered in assisting the poor and elderly. She invests in her community’s future by mentoring students at JFK Middle School. Judge York gives back to the community by supporting various causes, including donating financial support and personal time to organizations that provide school supplies to children of the Fifth Ward, to first responders and law enforcement officers who help serve and protect our communities, to organizations that support breast cancer awareness and research, and to organizations that encourage animal rescue.

Judge York is married to family law attorney Doug York, who is also a retired police officer.  Outside of the courtroom, she enjoys taking time to focus on her two passions, baking and exercising, as well as caring for her two dogs, Bentley and Mila.
